Step-Back Ladder

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026 (draft)

This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

  • When you buy: Stripe collects your name, email, card details and billing details to take the payment. We get your name, email, what you bought and the amount. We never see your full card number.
  • When you email us: your email address and what you write.
  • When you visit: our host keeps basic server logs, such as IP address and pages loaded, for security.

The free kit needs no email. This site doesn't use ad trackers or analytics cookies.

Why we use it

  • To deliver your files and send your receipt
  • To answer your emails and handle refunds
  • To keep records the law asks for, such as tax records

We don't sell or share your personal information for ads.

Who else sees it

  • Stripe handles payments. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare hosts this site. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

How long we keep it

We keep order records as long as tax law asks. We keep emails only as long as we need them to help you.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information. Email support@backsoondog.com. We'll honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live.

Children

This site is not for children under 13. Buyers must be 18 or older.

Changes

If we change this page, we'll update the date at the top. If we add email sign-up or analytics later, we'll update this page first.

Organized by Paul Michael. I'm a dog owner, not a dog trainer or a vet. I put this together from published guidance by the ASPCA, Arizona Humane Society and certified separation-anxiety trainers.

I'm not a dog trainer or a veterinarian, and this isn't veterinary advice. The Step-Back Ladder helps you organize a practice plan and a Cover Plan you can follow and take to your vet or a certified trainer. See your vet first to rule out medical causes. If your dog is injuring themselves, trying to escape through windows or doors, or not eating when alone, talk to your vet or a veterinary behaviorist now. Moderate and severe cases do best with a professional. ASPCA recommends working with a qualified behavior professional (and a vet for any medication).

The Step-Back Ladder is a set of PDF planning pages. It is not veterinary care, and it does not diagnose anything. How your dog does depends on your dog. Quotes from the ASPCA, Arizona Humane Society and Malena DeMartini are shown so you can check the source. None of them made, reviewed or endorsed this kit.
